The GrowHow Advice Team
GrowHow Advice helps farmers focus on using fertiliser as efficiently as possible. It is accessed via a nationwide team of FACTS (Fertiliser Advisers Certification and Training Scheme) qualified GrowHow Advisers and Distributor Fieldsmen based in their local regions with an understanding of local cropping and farming issues.
The GrowHow Advice team have a number of services to develop your personal fertiliser plan. These include:
EnCompass® - a nutrient planning and recording program. Together with cropping history, yield expectations and the nutrient contribution of organic manures it delivers a bespoke fertiliser programme. We work in partnership with you to build the best fertiliser plan for your farm.
The GrowHow N-Min® Service is a practical way to optimise Nitrogen inputs. N-Min measures the soil mineral Nitrogen and predicts additional Nitrogen that becomes available to provide a total Nitrogen reservoir figure. Together with Nitrogen Calculator this provides a useful tool in assessing crop and cross-compliance requirements. These are explained more fully in Nitrogen Management: Nitrogen Management

The basis of any effective plan must include soil analysis: P, K, Mg & lime status. For crop assessment of the Sulphur status there is the Malate Sulphate test. Both of these services are available through the GrowHow Advice team and are analysed by Hill Court Farm Research.
